“I’m passionate about the continual improvement of organizations and people!”

My career as a human resource professional includes a blend of operational, administrative and strategic human resource experience especially in a warehousing, logistics and production environment.  I enjoy helping others and working with people, so it’s very rewarding to help companies navigate human resource challenges, which can be very stressful and complicated at times. As a person, I’m very driven, I like to understand the way things work, am positive, solutions-focused and value building relationships with people.

I attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) and received a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Industrial and Management Engineering.  From these studies, I grew a strong appreciation and passion for data and

metrics, information presentation and organizational, system and process improvements.  Industrial engineering also helped to create a foundation that emphasized the importance of observing, listening, and communicating.  My background as an industrial engineer has certainly shaped how I apply and view human resources in the workforce to this day.

After college, I had the unique opportunity to help start and run an electronics recycling company for ten years.  In that time, I was responsible for human resources, business operations, and the financial management of the company, and I was able to experience how interrelated and crucial these aspects are.  It also became clear to me how large of an impact employees have on a company and how the success of a company can depend on how effective employees are at all levels.  This experience really drove my interest in human resources and my motivation for helping a company and its employees develop and improve, to create a more productive and engaged workforce and a more effective operation.

Building on my past experience and education, I became a member of the Society of Human Resource Management and a Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) to expand and deepen my knowledge of human resources.  Overall, I enjoy helping companies and people grow and overcome challenges, and I look forward to the opportunity to help you and your company do just that!

Outside of work you can find me involved in a variety of nonprofits and local sport communities, including hockey and kickball leagues.  In my quiet time, I enjoy gardening and grow a wide variety of vegetables and flowers, in particular zinnias, delphinium, gladioluses and dahlias.  You can regularly find me reading a book or listening to an audiobook (often either sci-fi, fantasy, World War II nonfiction, or self-improvement books).  I like to bake, am competitive at boardgames, and always appreciate a good pun!
